PetroSolar Corporation (PSC), a subsidiary of Philippine renewable energy producer PetroGreen Energy Corporation (PGEC), has sealed a power supply agreement with Shell Energy Philippines Inc. Under this agreement, PSC will supply a portion of Shell Energy’s electricity demand from its 20-megawatt Tarlac-2 solar farm in Tarlac City. While the specific terms and the volume of solar capacity remain undisclosed, this collaboration illustrated the growth for sustainable energy solutions in the Philippines. It follows a previous agreement inked in 2022.
PGEC’s President & CEO, Francisco G. Delfin, Jr., emphasized the mutual commitment to clean energy as the the parties ramp up their renewable energy investments, including solar farms, and onshore, and offshore wind installations in key regions. This partnership positions them at the forefront of the race to establish the first offshore wind farm in the Philippines, contributing to the country’s transition towards greener energy sources. Shell Energy Philippines President Bernd Krukenberg stressed that the choice of PetroSolar as a partner was founded on its established reputation and dedication to renewable energy development.
