PetroVietnam to Complete Its Digital Transformation by 2030

August 2022

The Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) has been working with sociopolitical organizations to promote digital transformation across all of its businesses while also developing and perfecting appropriate and efficient solutions.

PetroVietnam has determined that the digital transformation work is necessary to boost productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness, with a resolution on implementing digital transformation in the group by 2025.

In order to achieve long-term objectives of increasing production and business efficiency and providing added value to customers, the company must gradually change its business culture and provide its employees with new skills as part of the governance of the digital ecosystem known as the ‘PVNDigiEcoSystem’. The corporation claims that although Petrovietnam’s current business model faces challenges as a result of digital transformation, new development drivers have also been developed. Hence, PetroVietnam must accomplish the coordinated implementation of the work in all businesses and components of the organization by 2030.

Additionally, in order to develop, administer, exploit, defend, and efficiently employ digital databases in sync with the strategy and organizational structure of the group, network safety and security must be ensured during the digital transformation process.

The development of PetroVietnam’s digital ecosystem governance is anticipated to support the company in maintaining its position as a market leader in the oil and gas sector, as well as in advancing the development of a digital society and digital government.
