Multinational FMCG company, Procter & Gamble (P&G), has established a new facility in the Philippines to produce diapers. The facility is located in Laguna province, with an estimated investment of PHP 864 million (USD 15.74 million).
The products to be produced in the new facility are intended for export to South Korea. P&G is also currently securing a registration with the Board of Investments (BOI) to obtain incentives, such as duty-free importation of capital equipment, raw materials, or accessories. The project is expected to provide more jobs to Filipinos and facilitate upskilling of employees.
In addition to diapers, P&G’s production in the Philippines also includes laundry detergents, dishwashing liquid, disposable napkins, antibacterial soap, and fabric conditioners for both local consumption and export. The Philippines’ export value for sanitary products in 2022 was USD 40 million, and the top export markets was South Korea, followed by Vietnam and Malaysia.
