ST Telemedia to Complete Eighth Data Center by 2022 in Singapore

April 2021

Headquartered in Singapore, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) is set to complete the construction of its eighth data center facility, STT Defu 3, at its flagship Defu campus by the third quarter of 2022.
STT GDC is one of the fastest-growing data center providers with over 120 facilities globally. The new facility is slated to add 15 megawatts (MW) of capacity.
STT Defu 3 will span more than 14,500 square meters and will meet the Threat Vulnerability Risk Assessment (TVRA). Once Defu 3 is operational, the entire STT Defu Campus will be linked via internal fiber connections and set to operate with a central monitoring and security system. According to STT GDC, the mesh of fiber optic pathways running between the sites will enable the company’s customers to establish private fiber links between its buildings.
STT Defu 3 will also meet the BCA-IMDA Green Mark Platinum and LEED 4 sustainability benchmarks. As STT GDC expands its footprint in current and new markets, the company pledges to transition its data center operations to be net carbon neutral by 2030. According to Bruno Lopez, President and Group CEO of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, 43% of STT DGC’s electricity consumption is derived from zero-carbon renewable sources.
