UK Pork Exporters Target Vietnam’s Booming Food Market with High-Profile Trade Mission

October 2025

UK pork producers are making a strategic push into Vietnam’s fast-growing food market with a major trade mission from September 23 to 25, organised by the UK’s Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), the British Consulate-General and the British Chambers of Commerce. The delegation includes leading exporters such as GPS Food Group Ltd, Norwest Foods International Ltd, and Dunbia. These companies are known for high standards in food safety, traceability and animal welfare.

The visit follows the signing of an Export Health Certificate in November 2022, which has paved the way for UK pork to enter Vietnam. “British pork is world-class, and I’m proud that the UK has some of the highest standards of production, food safety, and animal welfare in the world, which I know Vietnamese customers value,” said Matthew Albon-Crouch, the UK’s Agriculture Attaché in Hà Nội.

The mission features meetings with Vietnam’s Department for Animal Health and Livestock Production, and a public seminar in Ho Chi Minh City to showcase British pork’s quality and the advantages of UK – Vietnam trade ties. This comes as UK food and drink exports to Việt Nam nearly doubled between 2020 and 2023, reaching USD154 million. With the UK’s accession to CPTPP expected to further cut tariffs and ease customs procedures, British exporters see Vietnam as a key growth market for premium food products in the coming years.
