The Board of Investments (BOI) has endorsed Citadel Energy Corporation’s PHP 6 billion (USD 102 million) 180-megawatt solar power project in San Vicente, Camarines Norte, positioning it among the largest in the Bicol Region. The project, developed by Zenith Renewable Energy Corporation (ZREC), supports the government’s push to expand renewable energy capacity and strengthen national energy security.
The endorsement was granted under the Green Lane Program, which streamlines approvals for strategic, high-impact investments under Executive Order No. 18. This marks ZREC’s second Green Lane certification following its Mabini Solar Power Plant in Pangasinan.
BOI officials and representatives from ZREC, TrinaSolar, and the Camarines Norte local government attended the awarding ceremony held in Bonifacio Global City. The BOI reiterated its commitment to work closely with private and international partners to advance clean energy investments that align with the country’s climate and sustainability goals.
