ŌURA and NUS Open Joint Lab in Singapore to Advance Preventive Health Research

February 2026

ŌURA and the National University of Singapore (NUS) have opened the Oura–NUS Joint Lab, a new research entity dedicated to advancing personalized preventive health. Located at NUS, the lab marks ŌURA’s first research presence in the Asia-Pacific region and deepens a six-year collaboration with the Centre for Sleep and Cognition at NUS Medicine. The Joint Lab will integrate continuous, real-world biometric data collected through the Oura Ring with NUS’s expertise in sleep science, physiological data analysis, and cognitive neuroscience to better understand how sleep patterns and physical activity influence broader health outcomes.

Building on earlier joint studies evaluating sleep tracking accuracy, cross-country sleep variability, travel-related sleep disruption, and cardiovascular risk indicators, the new lab will expand into multi-year research programs. These studies will examine how day-to-day behavioral and biometric changes correlate with long-term risks in areas such as metabolic, cardiovascular, and mental health. By leveraging wearable data at scale, the initiative aims to develop evidence-based insights that can inform individuals, clinicians, and health systems, supporting earlier interventions and more targeted lifestyle adjustments.

The establishment of the Joint Lab reinforces Singapore’s positioning as a hub for biomedical research, digital health innovation, and public–private collaboration. Anchoring ŌURA’s first Asia-based research entity in Singapore reflects the country’s strong research infrastructure and growing emphasis on preventive health and healthy longevity. The partners aim to translate research findings into scalable, data-driven preventive health models that can be applied across Asia-Pacific and globally, contributing to efforts to reduce chronic disease burden and improve population health outcomes.
