Digital Edge announced a USD 4.5 billion investment to develop the CGK Campus, a large-scale data center project in the GIIC Industrial Estate in Bekasi, Indonesia. The campus is designed to deliver 500 megawatts of IT capacity at full development, with potential expansion to 1 gigawatt. The company stated that this represents its largest infrastructure commitment to date in the Asia Pacific region.
The CGK Campus is intended to support Indonesia’s growing digital economy and increasing demand for artificial intelligence and cloud services. The facility targets an annualized power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.25. It will include direct to chip liquid cooling systems, recycled water use, and integration of renewable energy sources. The campus will operate as a carrier neutral facility to provide network diversity and broad access to digital ecosystems.
The site is located within 15 kilometers of other major data center clusters and about 40 kilometers from Digital Edge’s EDGE1 and EDGE2 facilities in central Jakarta. Development will proceed in phases. The first phase includes three buildings, with the first scheduled for service in the fourth quarter of 2026, the second in the first quarter of 2027, and the third in the second quarter of 2027.
The campus will be supported by fiber and network infrastructure from Indonet, a telecommunications subsidiary wholly owned by Digital Edge. The company stated that new underground routes have been built to enhance reliability and network resilience.
