US company Quasar Medical has begun construction on a new manufacturing facility in Thailand, marking a significant step in expanding its global operations. Scheduled to open in early 2026, the new site will support the company’s focus on complex interventional and minimally invasive medical devices.
The facility will be Quasar’s second in Thailand, following the opening of its first site in 2021. That initial 86,000-square-foot facility includes ISO Class 8 cleanrooms and advanced micro-assembly capabilities. The new plant will be built on a 205,000-square-foot plot, adding nearly 140,000 square feet of manufacturing space. It will feature automation-integrated processes, enhanced cleanroom infrastructure, and the ability to handle high-mix, high-volume production.
The Thailand expansion is part of Quasar’s network of seven Centers of Medical Device Excellence. The facility will serve global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), offering technology transfer support and rapid production ramp-up. It will focus on micro-assembly devices used across various medical fields.
Located one hour from Bangkok International Airport and near key seaports, the new site is positioned to strengthen the company’s global supply chain and support future growth. Over the next five to seven years, the facility is expected to create more than 2,000 jobs, supporting both the local workforce and supplier network.
Quasar views this investment as a step toward improving manufacturing agility, scalability, and precision while reinforcing its long-term commitment to global medical technology partners. The facility is designed to support evolving industry needs and sustain operational flexibility.
