Thailand is marking a significant stride in the domains of healthcare and digital innovation with the launch of an innovative AI-driven lung cancer screening service by the Digital Economy and Society Ministry. The “AI for Better Life” project stands as a collaborative masterpiece involving AstraZeneca (Thailand), Banphaeo General Hospital, The Mall Group, and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (Depa). The primary objective of this concerted effort is to redefine the landscape of early lung cancer detection through the employment of AstraZeneca’s artificial intelligence (AI)-powered screening system, with the ambitious goal of reaching 1 million individuals within the 2024.
The screening process merely consumes three minutes for the AI to meticulously process and furnish preliminary results. This streamlined integration of cutting-edge technology with the expertise of healthcare professionals ensures prompt action upon the detection of abnormalities, thereby facilitating timely interventions for those requiring further evaluation.
The initiative envisions a future wherein digital technology empowers individuals to proactively manage their health with efficiency. Aligned with the government’s unwavering commitment to harnessing the latent potential of AI, this initiative aims at making early lung cancer detection more accessible and economically viable.
