Australian retailer Spotlight has announced its plans to expand its presence in Singapore and Malaysia. It just reopened its newly revamped store at Plaza Singapura, located along Singapore’s main shopping street, Orchard Road. The store occupies 2,543 sq m of retail space, and now has over 1,000 additional product lines across home decor and party essentials. It also has a dedicated space for faux floral products.
Spotlight sells a wide range of products like homeware and sewing materials. Its chief executive officer revealed that the company wants to open at least two more stores in the city-state – one in Tampines and another in the northern part of the island. It is also looking at opening more stores in Malaysia, in addition to its two current ones in Kuala Lumpur.
Moreover, the company has plans to launch Spotlight Creative, a new concept store that started in Australia and has four outlets. The concept focuses on creative categories such as party supplies and sewing materials. Unlike Spotlight, it does not sell homeware.
