Leighton Asia, a company of Australian-based CIMIC Group, has been awarded a contract by PT JGC Indonesia to carry out civil and mechanical works for BP Indonesia’s Tangguh Ubadari, CCUS, Onshore Compression project in Papua Barat province, Indonesia. The contract covers support for the project’s onshore scope.
The work includes general civil construction for site development and tie in mechanical works at the energy facility. The scope of work includes piling, drainage systems, road construction, foundations, culverts, and precast concrete elements. It also covers tie in installation activities during Turn Around Maintenance 13, including steel structure erection, piping installation, electrical works, insulation, and painting.
CIMIC Group is part of Spain-based ACS Group, and its subsidiary HOCHTIEF is headquartered in Germany. Company executives stated that the project supports efforts to address energy demand in Indonesia and the broader Asian region. They also noted that the award reflects continued collaboration between the parties involved in the Tangguh project.
The Tangguh development is one of Indonesia’s major energy projects, and the awarded contract forms part of its ongoing infrastructure expansion and operational activities.
