Chang Gung Hospital Seeks to Expand Philippine Patient Base Through AC Health Tie-Up

January 2026

Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (CGMH)–Linkou is targeting a larger share of Philippine patients as part of its Southeast Asia growth strategy, focusing on cancer care and advanced surgical services. The Taiwan-based hospital is working with Ayala Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (AC Health) to streamline patient referrals and clinical collaboration between the Philippines and Taiwan.

Under the arrangement, initial assessments will be conducted in the Philippines, with selected patients referred to CGMH for specialised treatment or supported through teleconsultations. A key component of the collaboration involves AC Health’s Healthway Cancer Care Hospital, which will refer eligible patients for proton beam therapy, a highly precise cancer treatment technology that CGMH has offered since 2015 and has used on around 7,500 patients to date.

Beyond referrals, the partnership includes virtual case discussions, shared clinical protocols, and training opportunities for Philippine doctors in areas such as radiation oncology and proton therapy. CGMH is also highlighting its capabilities in cell-based therapies, single-port robotic surgery, and the growing use of artificial intelligence across its hospital network. While Chinese patients remain CGMH’s largest international group, the hospital sees significant potential to grow its Philippine footprint as demand for advanced oncology and specialized care continues to rise.
