JYSK, a Danish retail chain known for household products such as mattresses, furniture, and home décor, has announced its entry into Thailand. The first store will be introduced in Bangkok, allowing residents to access JYSK’s offerings.
Designed as a city store, the outlet will be smaller in size and located within an indoor shopping center. Operations in Thailand will follow a franchise model, with the Boonthavorn Group managing the business instead of JYSK’s corporate headquarters in Brabrand. The Boonthavorn Group, a well-established company, has already planned six initial stores. Four will be city stores integrated into Boonthavorn shopping centers, while the remaining two will include a JYSK flagship store under the Concept 3.0 model and a compact store at Jatujak subway station, a location used by 18 million passengers annually.
JYSK Nordic’s Franchise Director, Frederik Kåre Kroun, anticipates strong growth, emphasizing the importance of a reliable franchise partner. The Boonthavorn Group shares this vision, with CEO Sitthisak Tayanuwat outlining plans to open 30 branches across Thailand within five years. The first JYSK store in Thailand will officially welcome customers on December 10, 2018, at Ratchapruk in Bangkok.
