European Philippine Business Dialogue 2025 Reinforces Momentum for Stronger EU PH Trade Relations

The 2025 European Philippine Business Dialogue in Makati brought together senior Philippine officials, European Union diplomats, and business leaders in strong support of restarting the EU Philippines Free Trade Agreement negotiations. Organized by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines and the EU ASEAN Business Council, the event highlighted the Philippines’ growing appeal as an investment hub in Southeast Asia.

Speakers including ECCP President Paulo Duarte, EU Ambassador Massimo Santoro, and representatives from ARTA, DBM, DOF, and the Department of Economy Planning and Development emphasized opportunities for deeper cooperation in renewable energy, digital transformation, manufacturing, and services. They also underscored the importance of policy reforms that improve ease of doing business and strengthen investor confidence.

The launch of the 2025 ECCP Advocacy Papers outlined key recommendations to enhance competitiveness and promote a more predictable business environment. Delivering remarks on behalf of President Marcos, Special Assistant Frederick Go affirmed the government’s commitment to liberalizing investment rules and advancing transparent and growth-oriented reforms.

Overall, the dialogue renewed momentum for a more robust, sustainable, and future ready EU Philippines economic partnership.
