France-based eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica has announced the acquisition of one of the largest optical retail companies in Malaysia. The transaction includes a portfolio of over 90 outlets operating under the A-Look, Seen, and OWL brands, which have a significant presence across both Peninsular and East Malaysia.
This acquisition is expected to reinforce EssilorLuxottica’s position in Malaysia, where it already operates both wholesale and retail operations. Founded in 2003, the acquired group has built omnichannel model, serving a broad customer base through multiple storefronts and retail formats. The integration of the A-Look, Seen, and OWL retail brands into the company’s wider network will help accelerate the development of innovative vision care solutions tailored to local consumer needs. It also aligns with the group’s goal to enhance in-store digital experiences and increase awareness of high-quality eyewear products across the region.
The move complements EssilorLuxottica’s broader growth strategy in the Asia Pacific, bringing its operations closer to a rapidly expanding consumer market. In addition to retail expansion, the group also maintains lens production facilities in Malaysia to support localized service delivery for eyecare professionals.
