Indonesia has partnered with Oracle Corporation, a leading American multinational in cloud infrastructure, to develop what is expected to become Southeast Asia’s largest artificial intelligence (AI) center by the third quarter of 2025. The initiative is being coordinated through Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs.
The facility, expected to be the largest GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) cluster in Southeast Asia, will support high-performance AI models aimed at advancing sectors such as education, healthcare, smart city development, and national security infrastructure.
This strategic partnership supports Indonesia’s Digital Vision 2045 roadmap, which seeks to position the country as a leading digital economy by integrating local regulatory frameworks and talent development with Oracle’s advanced technology and global cloud infrastructure.
The AI hub is designed to foster domestic innovation while also attracting international researchers and companies interested in deploying large-scale AI applications in Southeast Asia, thereby positioning Indonesia as an emerging regional leader in responsible and scalable AI development.
Emphasizing its significance for national sovereignty and economic growth, Indonesia’s Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs highlighted the initiative as a key example of public-private collaboration, demonstrating how national goals and global technological expertise can align to drive impactful digital innovation with lasting regional benefits.
