India-based iSON Group plans to invest up to USD 300 million over the next decade to strengthen digital infrastructure in the Philippines. The company intends to develop 3,000 to 4,000 new telecommunication towers, focusing on underserved rural areas. Through its telecom subsidiary, iSON Tower, the group aims to build 300 to 400 towers annually. The project is aligned with the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s Common Tower Initiative, which reduces infrastructure duplication and promotes cost-efficient network expansion for mobile operators.
The Department of Trade and Industry said the investment will support thousands of local contractors across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao while advancing the country’s digital connectivity and sustainable economic development. The agency will coordinate with relevant government bodies to facilitate regulatory approvals and provide incentives under the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises program and the Strategic Investment Priority Plan.
Trade Secretary Cristina Roque described iSON’s decision to expand as a vote of confidence in the Philippine economy and as a partnership in nation-building. She added that the project supports reliable mobile and internet services in remote communities while creating high-quality jobs for Filipinos.
iSON Group operates in 35 countries and employs more than 20,000 workers worldwide. Its Philippine head office is in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. To date, iSON Tower has built 400 towers in the country and plans to significantly increase its footprint over the next decade.
