Eleven Israeli companies are set to introduce and sell advanced agricultural technologies in the Philippines. The Israel Agricultural-Tech Roadshow in Makati City attracted around 100 local firms and agri-tech startups, showcasing a wide range of innovative solutions.
Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines, Ilan Fluss, noted the diverse mix of companies, from long-established firms to newcomers seeking global expansion. Key technologies presented included CropX’s farm management systems, Amiad’s self-cleaning water treatment solutions, and Foresight’s driver assistance systems for agricultural machinery. Other participating Israeli companies included Baccara, AgroSheriff’s Agritech, LR Group’s Innovative Agro Industry, Gat Fertilizers, Netafim, Reshef Aviation, Plasson Livestock, and Metzer. Ambassador Fluss emphasized the importance of agricultural collaboration, considering it a top priority in bilateral relations. He highlighted Israel’s transformation of arid landscapes through innovation as a model for addressing agricultural challenges in the Philippines.
Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary Jerome Oliveros expressed optimism about developing a customized agricultural program with Israeli technology. He cited ongoing talks with the LR Group about vanilla production and mentioned the potential procurement of Israeli technologies, some of which might be available as grants.
