Japanese Footwear Retailer ABC-MART to Open Flagship Stores in Manila

September 2025

Japanese footwear retailer ABC-MART will open its first flagship stores in Manila in 2025 through a joint venture with SONAK Retail Group. The collaboration will introduce two concepts: ABC-MART Grand Stage and ABC-MART Standard, both located in Bonifacio Global City.

ABC-MART Grand Stage is a premium store spanning over 750 square meters across two floors. It will offer curated collections from international brands such as Nike, Adidas, Asics, Puma, New Balance, Skechers, Timberland, Vans, Crocs, and Salomon. The concept focuses on high-end products and exclusive releases.

ABC-MART Standard will provide a broader selection of footwear for everyday and casual wear, catering to a wider audience. The joint venture aims to introduce ABC-MART’s retail model to the Philippines as part of a strategic expansion across Southeast Asia.

Anil Buxani, CEO of SONAK Retail Group, said the partnership leverages the Filipino market’s growing interest in streetwear and fashion, building on ABC-MART’s recent success in Vietnam. Kiichiro Hattori, Vice President of ABC-MART, emphasized the Philippines’ large and dynamic market and expressed confidence that the collaboration would deliver a distinct retail experience for style-conscious consumers.

Both store formats are planned for expansion across the Philippines in 2025 and beyond, reflecting a broader strategy to strengthen ABC-MART’s presence in the Southeast Asian footwear market.
