Korean food company Paldo announced plans to launch its popular Pororo children’s beverage in Indonesia this year by partnering with local distributor Indofood Group. According to a press release, the agreement will see Pororo drinks become available to Indonesian consumers starting in July. According to the announcement, the drinks will be distributed via the sales network of Indomarco, the distribution arm of the Indofood Group.
As part of its global expansion strategy, Paldo obtained halal certification in Indonesia for its Pororo drinks in 2018, ensuring compliance with Islamic Sharia law, which governs the preparation of meat and other food products like fruits and vegetables. The company anticipates that its new partnership in Indonesia will support its efforts to strengthen its presence in East Asia’s food and beverage markets.
The company recently signed a preliminary agreement with Thailand’s leading conglomerate, Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group, to jointly develop new products, expand offline sales channels, and introduce localized offerings tailored to consumers in Thailand and other East Asian markets.
Paldo has been exporting its food and beverage products, notably its flagship instant noodle brand, Paldo Bibimmyeon, to international markets. Since their launch in 2007, Pororo drinks have been distributed to approximately 30 countries worldwide.
