Malaysia-based digital services firm MYEG Services Bhd and Singapore’s STrade Data Exchange Service (SGTraDex) have formed a strategic alliance to facilitate secure, paperless cross-border trade between the two nations. The partnership is slated to connect MYEG’s Zetrix Layer-1 blockchain with SGTraDex’s digital trade platform to support seamless data exchange and digital documentation.
This collaboration aims to establish a seamless, verifiable exchange of trade-related data that enhances transparency, reduces processing time, and strengthens supply chain resilience across borders. The initiative supports ASEAN’s Digital Economy Framework Agreement and promotes mutual recognition of digital identities, electronic trade documents, and regulatory credentials. By aligning digital infrastructure and adopting interoperable data standards, the partnership is designed to unlock both business-to-business and business-to-government efficiencies. Technical integration efforts will focus on blockchain-based verification, platform interoperability, and regulatory coordination, key enablers in advancing the region’s transition from paper to digital processes.
SGTraDex, a public-private digital platform backed by Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority and key players in finance, logistics, and trade, brings deep industry collaboration to the table. Together with MYEG, Malaysia’s leading e-government service provider, the two platforms will explore co-developing services and sharing best practices to support broader regional integration, including linkages with China and Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The partnership represents a significant step toward a digitally unified ASEAN, aimed at improving trade facilitation and driving inclusive economic growth.
