Murata Completes New Production Facility in Batangas to Expand MLCC Output

November 2025

Murata Manufacturing has completed a new production building at its Philippine subsidiary in Tanauan, Batangas, further strengthening its global capacity for multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs). The facility, which began construction in August 2023, was inaugurated on October 22, 2025, with PEZA Director General Tereso Panga and Japanese Ambassador Kazuya Endo in attendance.

The new two-story reinforced concrete building has a total floor area of 77,981 square meters and represents an investment of JPY 11.2 billion (USD 74 million) for the building alone. The expansion supports growing global demand for MLCCs as the mobility and electronics sectors continue to scale.

Murata’s Batangas plant, established in 2011 and employing more than 4,300 workers, plays a central role in the company’s strategy to distribute MLCC production across Japan, ASEAN, and China to ensure flexible and balanced capacity growth. The project is part of Murata’s broader global expansion program, which includes additional MLCC-related facilities in Thailand, Japan, China, and India slated for completion between 2023 and 2026.

Murata remains a global leader in ceramic-based electronic components, communication modules, and high-density power solutions, with manufacturing operations worldwide.
