Philippine Company Signs MOU on Energy and Construction Projects with US Engineering Firm

Philippine company OrionGroup International has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with US firm, Burns & McDonnell for Energy and construction projects in the Philippines valued at USD 1.2 billion.

According to OrionGroup International, which specializes in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects in the real estate and Energy industries, the partnership is aligned with its strategy to develop the Energy and Infrastructure sectors of the Philippine countryside. Burns & McDonnell is an international company in the engineering, architecture and construction industries with sales of USD 4 billion.

Both companies have agreed to partner in the design, development and construction of projects in the country in 2020. The pipeline of projects include renewable Energy, Energy storage, hotel development, liquified natural gas (LNG) facilities, as well as commercial developments and aviation projects. The majority of the projects will be located in the province and countryside – providing more economic opportunities and sources of livelihood for people who live outside Metro Manila.

Burns & McDonnell noted that they view the Philippines as a growing region and see good prospects for further ventures and expansion in Infrastructure development in the country.
