The Philippines’ National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board has approved an additional 23 projects in the list of infrastructure flagship projects (IFPs) that will be prioritized, bringing the total cost to USD 163 Billion.
In February 2024, NEDA stated that the board chaired by President Marcos approved the inclusion of 23 new projects and delisted 36 projects from the list of IFPs. With the said adjustment, there are now 185 IFPs with a total value of USD 163.3 Billion. Previously, there were 198 IFPs with a total value of approximately USD 157 Billion.
The move aims to prioritize crucial projects to ensure they are provided the necessary support for efficient and faster implementation. By rationalizing the list, NEDA ensures the implementation of as many important infrastructure projects of high significance as possible. Projects that have been removed will still proceed as planned since they were already part of the regular government programs.
