Singapore-based BDx Data Centers has launched Southeast Asia’s first hybrid quantum AI testbed at its SIN1 facility in Paya Lebar. This new platform integrates Anyon Technologies’ quantum computing system with existing data center infrastructure, enabling government agencies, enterprises, and startups to explore quantum-enhanced AI applications. The testbed supports a hybrid model combining quantum processing units (QPUs), central processing units (CPUs), and graphics processing units (GPUs) to advance AI workloads and create practical business applications.
The project includes the installation of a superconducting quantum computer onsite, paired with NVIDIA’s GPU technology, to provide a versatile environment for experimenting with quantum, classical, and GPU computing resources. This hybrid approach aims to lower adoption barriers for enterprises, including financial institutions, enabling talent development and innovation in AI.
BDx’s SIN1 facility will also function as a cross-regional AI Hub and Innovation Center, supporting startups and government technology initiatives with dedicated access to AI-ready infrastructure. The center focuses on accelerating AI adoption and fostering practical outcomes in research and business across the region.
The data center also boasts a 20% energy efficiency improvement compared to similar facilities, achieved through advanced cooling, smart automation, and Singapore’s first AI-powered digital twin system for real-time energy and performance optimization. Plans are underway to expand the hybrid quantum AI model to other Asian markets such as Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan to build a wider regional network of quantum-enabled data centers.
