Turkish defense vehicle manufacturer Katmerciler has entered into a cooperation agreement with Malaysia’s Deftech to jointly manufacture and export the EREN 4×4 armored vehicle. The partnership was formalized during the 2025 International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) in Istanbul.
Under the agreement, production of the EREN 4×4 will be localized in Malaysia, with plans to supply both domestic and regional defense markets. The EREN 4×4 is designed as a high-mobility tactical vehicle with modular features adaptable for a wide range of missions, including troop transport, reconnaissance, and tactical support. Its agility, ease of maintenance, and versatility make it suitable for operations across both rural and urban terrain.
Establishing production in Malaysia is expected to enhance the country’s defense manufacturing capabilities while delivering cost-competitive solutions to Southeast Asian armed forces. Although financial details were not disclosed, industry estimates suggest the deal could be valued at USD 100–150 million, in line with comparable regional defense programs.
