Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) was awarded two contracts worth MYR 175 million (USD 40 million) involving Chan Sow Lin-Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit underground station and Sunway International School’s new campus in Sunway City, Selangor. This has raised its total order book to MYR 688 million (USD 160 million) in the first three months of 2020.
The projects include mechanical, electrical and plumbing works for Chan Sow Lin-Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit underground station worth MYR 54 million (USD 12.6 million) to be completed in one year, while the Sunway International School’s new campus is worth MYR 121 million (USD 28 million) and expected to be completed by 2022.
Recently, SunCon had also secured a 36.75 km highway project worth MYR 508 million (USD 118 million) in India, its largest project, and the eighth largest in the country. Group managing director Chung Soo Kiong said that the company will continue to expand overseas and focus on its in-house pipeline projects by its intermediate holding company, Sunway Group.
