Indonesia-based healthtech platform HaloDoc has raised USD 80 Million in Series C funding from major investors such as Indonesian conglomerate Astra International and Singapore’s state-owned Temasek. The new funds will be used to improve user experiences and deepen Halodoc’s penetration in key healthcare verticals across Indonesia.
Established in 2016, HaloDoc is an online integrated health application that enables users to connect with medical professionals through voice calls, video calls, chat, and appointments. On average, the app serves around 7 million users per month throughout Indonesia, with 80% of users living outside the main cities of Jakarta and Surabaya. In total, the company has 20 million monthly active users and more than 20,000 registered doctors across over 180 cities in the country.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, HaloDoc has been authorized by Indonesia’s Ministry of Health to help roll out vaccination programs and schedule Covid-19 tests. The pandemic also brought along increased demands for online medical consultations.
In 2019 and 2020, Halodoc was listed as the largest healthtech startup from South East Asia in CB Insights’ Digital Health 150; while in 2018, Halodoc received “The Most Innovative Start-Up” award from Galen Growth Asia and was selected by Forbes Indonesia as its “Choice Start-Up” for the year.
