Japanese department store group Isetan Mitsukoshi has formed a joint venture with One Bangkok, a smart district developed by TCC Assets and Frasers Property, to establish a new shopping and lifestyle destination in Thailand. This collaboration will introduce a “Depachika”—a Mitsukoshi supermarket and food hall concept—within One Bangkok Retail, featuring a diverse selection of international and local brands, fresh produce, and dining options.
The 4,600 m² food hall will be located on the basement level of the Parade, offering customers access to high-quality fresh produce, meat, and fish sourced from exclusive farmer networks and Japanese producers. It will also host a variety of Japanese brands, pastry boutiques, cafés, and restaurants, many of which will debut in Thailand.
The joint venture will also co-invest in One Bangkok Office Tower 4, enhancing the district’s status as a hub for global office businesses that prioritize premium space, employee well-being, sustainability, and smart technology. Toshiyuki Hosoya, President and CEO of Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings, emphasized the strategic importance of Asia, particularly Thailand, for the company. He highlighted Thailand’s strong ties with Japan and the local appreciation for Japanese products, predicting that Bangkok’s potential will further enhance the value of their offerings.
The One Bangkok project aligns with Isetan Mitsukoshi’s vision of innovative and sustainable development. By integrating their long-established culture and tradition, Isetan Mitsukoshi aims to enrich the One Bangkok project, providing a unique and valuable experience. Currently, Mitsukoshi operates 20 department stores and 130 small to medium-sized stores in Japan, with an additional 25 stores internationally.
