Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has partnered with Power-Up (P.UP) by Nazamax Malaysia to introduce a mobile electric vehicle (EV) charging service designed to make EV ownership more convenient and seamless. This on-demand door-to-door service delivers power directly to customers’ locations using up to 120kWh DC fast chargers, allowing EV owners to quickly top up their vehicles without needing to be present. The partnership aims to address common charging challenges and contribute to expanding Malaysia’s EV infrastructure.
The pilot mobile charging service was launched in Penang in September 2024 and has since expanded to the Klang Valley with three mobile charging vans. Operations are planned to begin in Johor Bahru in early 2026, with ambitions to cover the entire Peninsular Malaysia by the second half of 2026. This phased expansion reflects a commitment to enhancing EV charging accessibility across Malaysia, supporting the nation’s goals for electric mobility growth.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s Vice President of Customer Services, Edmin Naidoo, emphasized that the collaboration exemplifies their vision to provide not only advanced EV vehicles but also comprehensive services tailored to their evolving customers’ needs. P.UP’s CEO, SM Fauzi Dato Hj SM Shalahuddin, expressed enthusiasm about the positive reception from Mercedes-Benz EQ customers and the company’s plans to broaden the service’s reach in the near future.
This partnership represents a strategic move to lower barriers for EV owners by integrating flexible, mobile charging solutions with premium vehicle offerings. It is positioned to strengthen Malaysia’s EV ecosystem by offering solutions that enhance user convenience while supporting national sustainability and EV adoption targets.
