Sercomm Philippines, a manufacturer of networking equipment, has recently increased its production capacity by opening a PHP 2.5 billion (USD 45 million) factory Laguna, Philippines. The CEO of Sercomm Philippines also announced that the new facility, situated in Carmelray Industrial Park I–Special Economic Zone, aims to employ 5,000 individuals.
Covering an area of 20,000 square meters, the facility will manufacture wireless telecommunication devices, including 5G and fiber products. The facility aims set new standards in terms of manufacturing construction processes, with the goals of making it the most advanced green facility of its kind. It will serve as regional center for the North America and Southeast Asia markets.
Highlighting the importance of Sercomm Philippines’ investment, the Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippiens emphasized that this investment could play a significant role in the country’s ambition to become a regional manufacturing hub for Sercomm’s products. This positions the country not only as a component of the global supply chain for wireless telecommunication devices but also as a regional manufacturing and distribution hub for Sercomm’s 5G and Fiber products.
The Department also stressed that this new investment by Sercomm Philippines will contribute to the country’s economic growth. Since 2019, the existing USD 20 million facility in Carmelray has already become Sercomm’s third-largest site, accounting for 20% of the company’s total manufacturing capacity.
