KCC Glass Corporation, a representative integrated glass company in Korea, has announced plans to establish a glass factory in Batang Industrial Park, Central Java, Indonesia. The USD 350 million glass factory, in the size of 490,000 square meters in total, is scheduled for completion in 2024 and is expected to produce around 43.8 thousand tons of architectural float glass per year at the time of completion.
The company is targeting the construction market in Southeast Asia, which is recording nearly two times a higher growth rate than that of the world construction market. KCC GLASS Corporation is planning to sell architectural float glasses produced from its glass factory in Indonesia to the local and Southeast Asian markets and expand the factory in stages to develop it into an integrated glass cluster for overseas markets.
In South Korea, KCC Glass is a leading player with two factories for glass production located in Yeoju and Jeonui. Its Indonesian facility will be its first overseas plant. The establishment of the glass factory in Indonesia is expected to serve as a turning point to help transform the company into a global company and will serve as a bridgehead for its expansion to the global market.
