Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES), together with CAT Telecom, kickstarted a new Government Data Center and Cloud Service (GDCC) project, aiming to provide a cloud service for use by government agencies.
The GDCC project will provide Thai government agencies access to Tier 4 data center standard with 99.99% service level agreement (SLA) guaranteed uptime, without the need to set up their own data centers. The project will leverage a data warehouse to integrate information across government departments, thereby saving time, resources, and significantly reducing Infrastructure costs, while improving government efficiency.
MDES will be responsible for managing the system while CAT Telecom will be the required data centers and IT Infrastructure. Moreover, the project plans to open Cloud Computing orientation courses for over 2,500 government officials.
