Türkiye’s state-owned defense contractor Roketsan has signed an agreement with Indonesia to establish a joint defense production facility, as confirmed by the company’s CEO at the 2025 Antalya Diplomacy Forum. The deal represents a key milestone in Türkiye’s broader strategy to strengthen defense ties with allied nations through joint development, manufacturing, and traditional arms exports.
Roketsan, in collaboration with an Indonesian defense partner, will establish a joint production facility to manufacture various defense systems, including anti-ship missiles, cruise missiles, and advanced smart munitions. The partnership also encompasses technology transfer, local infrastructure development, and training initiatives for Indonesian engineers and technicians.
Held under the auspices of Türkiye’s President and hosted by the Foreign Minister, the Antalya Diplomacy Forum remains a key platform for advancing Ankara’s international engagement. According to the CEO, Roketsan’s presence at the forum facilitated direct discussions with several heads of state and defense ministers, including Indonesia’s President, with whom the company concluded talks on the joint defense production initiative.
The partnership reflects Türkiye’s growing focus on defense diplomacy, emphasizing co-production, technology transfer, and training. Through long-term industrial collaborations, Türkiye aims to move beyond conventional arms exports and build strategic relationships in regions including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
