TTC Group and Gulf Energy Group (Thailand) inaugurated two solar power plants in Thanh Thanh Cong Industrial Zone in Trang Bang district, Tay Ninh province, Vietnam. Spread out over an area of 120 hectares, the two plants were built with an investment of VND 2.7 trillion (USD 115.8 million) by a joint venture between the two companies. Equipped with a total of 360,000 solar panels at a combined capacity of 118.8 MWp, the two plants are capable of supplying around 184 million kWh annually to the national grid, meeting the demand of an estimated 150,000 households.
The first plant was built on an area of 69.5 hectares, with solar panels covering 42.5 ha at a capacity of 68.8 MWp. The project was completed with a USD 65 million investment, with the installation of 208,500 solar panels, each with an individual capacity of 330W.
The second plant, adjacent to the first was built on 50 ha, with PV panels taking up 39.2 ha and with a total capacity of 50 MWp. The investment for this project was USD 50 million for the installation of 151,500 panels.
The TTC chairwoman stated the operation of the two solar power plants confirmed collaboration areas between TTC and Gulf, as well as Tay Ninh’s status as a strategic investment province for her firm. Under the terms of their agreement, Gulf Group and TTC Group are set to develop another wind power project (310 MW) and a solar power project (30 MW) in Ben Tre Province.
Vietnam aims to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2030 with assistance from 18 GW of new onshore wind and PV generation capacity. The government has set a target of raising solar generation capacity to 12 GW by 2030 from a mere 8 MW two years ago.

168-MWp Ninh Thuan solar power plant built by Singapore-based clean Energy provider Sunseap Group and Infrastructure developer InfraCo Asia
DAU TIENG 1-2, billed as the largest solar facility in Southeast Asia to date with a total capacity of 420 MW, and the 257-MW Phu Yen by Thailand-based B.Grimm Power Plc
