US Dairy Export Council Opens Center for Dairy Excellence in Singapore

November 2020

The US Dairy Export Council (USDEC) has continued to expand its progress in South East Asia since it first entered the region in 1998, opening a new US Centre for Dairy Excellence (US. CDE) in Singapore – it’s first overseas physical investment. Funded by US dairy farmers and processors, the center is expected to promote collaboration between the US dairy community, South East Asian food and beverage stakeholders, and other partners.

South East Asia is the second-largest exporter of US Dairy by volume after Mexico, recording an export value of USD 934 million in 2019. This represents a USD 250 million increase since 2017, and growth is expected to continue, making South East Asia its top export destination in 2020. The US DEC will help boost this growth by tailoring its products to meet South East Asia needs, using US dairy ingredients and cheeses alongside local ingredients to better suit local taste preferences.
