Amadeus, a Spanish multinational technology firm that offers software solutions for the global travel and tourism industry, signed an agreement with Vietnam Airlines to employ its enhanced passenger service system (PSS) technology. The contract builds on an existing distribution partnership between the two organizations and will see the airline overhaul its digital solutions.
The new agreement will also support Vietnam Airlines to become a leading technology-enabled airline in Asia Pacific Both, with the two companies working together to further promote Vietnam as leading tourism destination and business hub for Southeast Asia.
According to the bilateral agreement, the Vietnamese flag airline will install the Amadeus Altéa PSS system and outfit it with cutting-edge travel technology. Through the advanced Amadeus PSS technology, Vietnam Airlines will be able to improve its operations and customer experiences by joining the global community of more than 200 airlines.
Moreover, the carrier will organize Altéa NDC, assisting it in distributing content and fares via NDC connectivity across channels and creating custom-made deals for passengers by making use of digital merchandizing.
According to a recent report of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Vietnam is the fifth fastest-rising air travel market globally, with 150 million travelers predicted yearly by 2035. Presently witnessing 40% of local passengers, and increasing speedily worldwide, the country’s national carrier is well-positioned to take advantage of this projected growth.
