Vinamilk, a leading Vietnamese dairy brand, has announced that its Optimum Gold recently became Asia’s first dairy formula product to be awarded the Clean Label Project (CLP) Purity Award 2022.
The Clean Project is a U.S. non-profit organization with the goal of bringing transparency to the labelling of food and consumer goods. CLP performs testing and evaluations to award brands that emphasize purity and exceed the minimal legal requirements set forth by the US Food and Drug Administration (US-FDA).
Executive Director of R&D at Vinamilk stated that awards such as the Purity Award require companies to adhere to strict end-to-end safety standards from raw materials to the final products, and ensure transparency in packaging information. Vinamilk is also submitting evaluation paperwork for other Vinamilk products in order to increase the quality standards of its whole line of children’s products.
Additionally, Vinamilk Green Farm and 100% Organic are the first fresh milk products in the world to receive the Clean Label Project certification, given to companies with enhanced transparency and honesty in product labelling. With this, Vinamilk has become the first company in Asia to acquire certifications and accolades from the CLP for both fresh milk and baby formula.
Founded in 1976, Vinamilk is the 36th largest dairy company in the world in terms of revenue, with a brand value in the Top 10 most valuable global brands. Currently, Vinamilk oversees 17 factories both in Vietnam and overseas and 15 farms. Baby formula items have contributed to the majority of the company’s total export revenue, and the company exports its products to 57 nations and territories.
