Bali to Upgrade Health Services

January 2020

The Bali provincial government is on its way to upgrade the island’s health services. The goal is to create an online database for local residents and integrate Bali’s public health system and management into one system.

Besides system integration, the government is also looking to open up Balinese traditional treatments. This is in line with the Indonesian central government’s plan to promote Medical tourism in Indonesia.

In November 2019, the Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto said that he is placing traditional-based Medical tourism on priority for their high economic potential.
