DKSH, Kotányi GmbH Expand Partnership to Enter Malaysia

June 2021

Swiss-based market expansion services provider DKSH, through its local unit DKSH Business Unit Consumer Goods in Malaysia, has expanded its cooperation with Kotányi GmbH, an Austrian purveyor of fine herbs and spices since 1881, to bring their premier herb and spice brand into Malaysia for the first time.
DKSH Malaysia is responsible for a full-agency service including marketing and sales, distribution and logistics, and after-sales services across West Malaysia through trade channels ranging from major supermarkets to local convenience stores. The Kotányi range of quality herbs and spices, which comes in a glass jar or spice grinder, will be available on the shelves as of May 2021.
The two companies’ first collaboration took place in Singapore in 2019. Manfred Wildauer, Country Group Manager & Business Development International Sales of Kotányi states that the expansion with DKSH is the result of their joint success in Singapore. Wildauer believes that DKSH’s in-depth knowledge of the local market, as well as the large capillary network, will provide a competitive advantage for Kotányi to grow its brand in Malaysia.
According to DKSH, Malaysians are highly fond of their food. Therefore, the addition of Kotányi’s products will spice up the culinary experience in local households. DKSH is also planning to expand Kotányi’s availability to more stores and leverage its sales and marketing expertise to help drive up the demand.
