Malaysia’s FGV Dairy Farm Increases Daily Fresh Milk Production to 30,000 Liters with New Factory

January 2021

FGV Dairy Farm Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of plantation conglomerate FGV Holdings, is expanding its milk production capacity through an integrated dairy farm and an increase in the number of imported dairy cattle. The production capacity expansion is aimed at meeting the local demand, particularly in the hotel, restaurant and cafe market segments, in line with Malaysia’s National Dairy Industry Development Program.
Its brand-new fresh milk factory in Linggi, Negri Sembilan with a processing volume of 30,000 liters per day is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2021. The facility will be installed with an automatic milking parlor and a cloud-based daily milk recording system to ensure product quality and productivity. The company has also imported additional 130 crossbred dairy heifers from Australia, and has a total dairy cow herd size of 258 .
FGV Group CEO Datuk Haris Fadzilah Hassan said more than 500,000 liters of fresh milk has been processed by its premium house brand Bright Cow, supplied from the fresh milk in FGV’s Linggi dairy farm and external dairy farms since it was launched in March 2020.  Currently only available online, several new formulations, flavors and packaging of Bright Cow products will be launched in April 2021 and are now undergoing product and stability tests.
