Nextgreen Extends MoU with Japanese Firms to Explore Green Technology

February 2020

Nextgreen Global Bhd, one of the leading printing companies in Malaysia has decided to extend a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) initially signed in November 2018 with Japanese IHI Corp and Nomura Holdings Inc for another year. The MoU aims to explore collaboration and investment opportunities in Nextgreen’s Green Technology Park in Pahang (GTPP).

Presently, both companies are carrying out the feasibility study for the development of power generation, auxiliary facilities for GTPP and other projects in Negeri Sembilan and Sarawak. It includes the development of a 30 MW biomass power plant, alkaline recovery plant and wastewater treatment plant in GTPP.

The MoU also enables potential collaboration involving Nextgreen’s technology of converting palm oil wastes into pulp and paper, IHI’s proficiency in renewable Energy and Nomura’s financial expertise. Nextgreen is also considering a joint venture arrangement and terms of the definitive agreement with the two companies.

GTPP is located on 410 acres of land in Pahang state and it was created by Nextgreen to promote the production of renewable paper and pulp products and create greater Environmental awareness through the efficient utilization of palm oil industry wastes and biomass to produce green products.
