Petronas Appoints Ria Solutions To Enhance Fire Water System on its Floating LNG Facility

June 2021

Malaysia’s Fortune 500 oil and gas firm Petronas has selected Ria Solutions (M) Sdn Bhd, a distributor for Norwegian-based Vipo to supply 1,400 m of its Elastopipe™ flexible piping system to replace and strengthen the safety properties of the existing system in PFLNG Satu. (PFLNG Satu is Petronas’s first floating offshore LNG facility in offshore Sarawak.)
Elastopipe is a patented flexible piping system that can transport a wide range of fluids with various core features such as corrosion-free, explosion-proof, impact-resistant, and jet-fire-resistant. It does not require hot work during the installation process and once fitted, it is virtually maintenance-free with a lifetime of over 30 years. For PFLNG Satu, Elastopipe piping will be utilized to replace the main fire foam ring of the firewater system, which will be upgraded to enhance its reliability and protection of assets. Other suitable Elastopipe’s applications include deluge and sprinkler systems, utility and drain water systems, and nitrogen distribution systems.
Based in Terengganu state with five offices nationwide, Ria Solutions has over 18 years of experience in inspection consultancy services, non-destructive testing, corrosion engineering, and asset integrity management services. It serves local and overseas clients primarily from the energy, utility, petrochemical, fabrication, and construction sectors.
