South Korea’s GC Holdings Launches Gene and Cancer Diagnostic Center in Vietnam

August 2024

South Korea’s GC Holdings will launch a gene and cancer diagnostic center in Vietnam in partnership with Phenikaa Group, marking its official entry into the Vietnamese healthcare sector.

According to Korea IT Times, the project will feature GC Green Cross Medical Foundation setting up a commercial lab that will utilize its extensive diagnostic experience, while GC Green Cross I-MED will open a high-end health check-up center aimed at Vietnam’s upper-middle class.

The commercial lab will introduce advanced diagnostic programs to offer swift results. At the health check-up center, Korean experts will perform endoscopic exams and provide distinctive services with cutting-edge medical technology and digital solutions.

The new center will deliver comprehensive, high-quality screening, diagnosis, and treatment services that adhere to international standards, serving not just Vietnam but the broader Southeast Asian region. It will be housed within the 800-bed Phenikaa University Hospital, spanning 26,096 square meters in Hanoi’s South Tu Liem district, with an opening scheduled for August 2024.

According to a GC’s representative, the company is set to actively engage with the Southeast Asian healthcare market, beginning with Vietnam, by merging its diagnostic testing expertise with its digital healthcare specialization. Besides, its goal is to establish diagnostic, testing, and healthcare facilities that meet international standards in Vietnam, minimizing waiting times for test results and enhancing diagnostic accuracy, especially for genetic disorders, cancer, and rare diseases.
