Taiwan’s HWC Coffee to Launch 40 Additional Stores in Malaysia

April 2023

Taiwan-based specialty coffee house chain HWC Coffee has announced that it will open an additional 40 specialty coffee brand stores throughout Malaysia in 2023. HWC plans to grow beyond the Klang Valley region, by opening an outlet in Penang and seeking other expansion opportunities in major cities.

As Malaysia’s first specialty coffee chain the coffee chain will start operating a flagship store and a coffee academy in May 2023. According to Zenda Ng, chief executive officer of HWC Coffee Malaysia, the flagship store will offer a wider variety of coffee in various quality and price ranges to suit a variety of tastes, while the coffee academy will focus on barista training, quick courses, and weekend coffee experiences. Additionally, it will promote HWC Coffee’s coffee clinic service from Taiwan to Malaysia and find creative methods to interact with local clients and coffee enthusiasts.

The chain of HWC Coffee outlets has rapidly grown to 15 locations in just nine months since its first brand store debuted at 1 Utama Shopping Centre in April 2022. HWC Coffee has opened mini outlets in three renowned homestay buildings as of February 2023. Additionally, Brunei will host HWC Coffee’s first international flagship store, opening in April 2023.
