Tanco Holdings Bhd, a publicly listed property company in Malaysia, has joined forces with CCCC Dredging Southeast Asia Sdn Bhd (CDSA) to develop Malaysia’s first smart AI-powered container port. This project is a key part of Tanco’s broader goal to create a state-of-the-art maritime hub in Southeast Asia by integrating advanced technologies and AI to modernize the nation’s logistics infrastructure.
Located in Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan state, the AI container port will cover 194.25 hectares and feature natural deep-water access of over 21 meters, enabling it to handle the world’s largest container ships. Upon completion, the project is expected to elevate Malaysia’s position in global maritime logistics, stimulate the growth of new industrial zones, and drive regional economic development. Additionally, the port will benefit from Malaysia’s growing transportation network, including the East Coast Rail Link, enhancing its role as a major transshipment hub in Southeast Asia.
CDSA will lead the design and engineering efforts for the port. Their responsibilities include overseeing the conceptual and front-end engineering designs, along with detailed engineering for key infrastructure components such as the wharf, approach bridges, harbor basin, and storage yards. The Midport development is set to make a significant contribution to Malaysia’s logistics sector, positioning the country as a key player in regional maritime trade and supporting sustainable economic growth.
