With the opening of its 1,000th store in the Philippines, Watsons has reached a significant milestone and now operates 8,000 locations throughout 15 markets in Asia and Eastern Europe. The new flagship store is situated in The Block, SM City North Edsa Block in Manila, with an area of over 1,000 square meters.
According to Watson, this new flagship store demonstrates Watson’s determination to strengthen our connection with customers via seamless O+O platforms. The new store offers the usual Watsons products, but it also offers fresh services to enhance the shopping experience – this is referred to by Watsons as O+O, or offline plus online. This includes the Online Express, which guarantees three-hour goods delivery to clients’ doorsteps. Consumers can also use Click & Collect Express, which allows them to place an online order and pick up their items in the shop within 30 minutes.
The Skinfie Lab was also introduced by Watsons via their Watsons app – the Skinfie lab will examine the face, including acne, wrinkles, pigmentation, and skin condition, using a selfie. The app will then start making suggestions. There is also virtual makeup, which enables the use of digital application of makeup.
A self-checkout counter is also present, which is an intriguing addition to the nation. Self-checkout counters have been successfully used in locations outside of the Philippines. The long-awaited introduction of technology to the nation is exciting.
