MDEC, KK Fund to Establish Virtual Investor-Matching Platform for Local Tech Startups

The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Singapore-based KK Fund Pte Ltd have recently launched a virtual investor-matching initiative called ‘Meet Your Match Malaysia’ for local startups that are looking for capital. The initiative, aimed at mitigating the economic impact of the COVID-19, is part of MDEC’s efforts to provide more funding opportunities startup companies.

MDEC and KK Fund have already secured around 60 global investors who are interested to match virtually with startups in Malaysia. All profiles and applications of the startups will be screened by MDEC and KK Fund, before being shared with the prospective investors. Interested investors can subsequently connect with their selected startups for further discussions.

In relation to the COVID-19 impact, MDEC has launched its #DigitalVsCovid campaign aimed at recruiting local tech companies to extend digital solutions and services to struggling domestic businesses and consumers. At present, over 80 digital and tech companies have responded.
