USD 107 million Investment Planned for 2020 to Improve Ha Long City’s Transport Infrastructure

March 2020

Ha Long City will receive USD 107 million to improve its transport Infrastructure this year in a bid to transform the coastline into an attractive tourism destination. The investment, which will contribute to 57 projects, will come from Quang Ninh province’s budget, revenue from Ha Long Bay’s visiting fees and private investors.

Thanks to this investment, the Tran Quoc Nghien Coastline project has been restarted in March. Quang Ninh started upgrading the Tran Quoc Nghien coastal ring-road in July 2019. The road is being upgraded to 6 lanes from 4 current lanes, with a 28m-wide pavement on the right designed with a park to provide people a space to admire Ha Long Bay. Other projects involving the upgrading of streets and roads to meet the increasing number of tourists will be conducted.

The city’s authorities will also prioritize resources to build campuses and classes in educational institutions as well as renovate Square 30-10 and the fishing port in Cao Xanh Ward, upgrade drainage systems and use Energy-saving LED lights in all lighting systems. The projects for Cua Luc Bridge 1 and Cua Luc Bridge 3 which are worth USD 172 million are expected to be delivered in 2022.
